Dr Sima Mousavi is an observational seismologist with expertise in seismic networks, field deployments, and national research infrastructure. She manages the Australian Seismometers in Schools (AuSIS) network, a national network of research-grade broadband seismometers installed in schools across Australia, and supports their operation, maintenance, data quality, and scientific use. Her research spans earthquake source characterisation and seismic imaging from the crust to the core–mantle boundary. She also connects seismic infrastructure with education and outreach, enabling students, teachers, and communities to engage directly with real earthquake data.
