Investigation of body wave detectability on Enceladus in the presence of a 3D ice shell with spatially variable thickness and seismic properties. Our findings highlighted the importance of understanding the ice shell in interpretation of teleseismic signals on icy ocean worlds.

First seismic study for Enceladus accounting for its unique low P-T environment and incorporating analogue ice characteristics measured in the terrestrial cryosphere. We discovered that the ice analogue used had a significant impact on modelled seismic phases and their amplitudes – a key finding for future mission specification.
